1. Introduction
“Shark Tank Nepal” (“Show”) is a business reality television program where entrepreneurs present their business ideas, products, or services to a panel of investors (“Sharks”) in order to secure investment.
Participation in the Show is voluntary and subject to the following Terms and Conditions. By submitting an application, all applicants agree to comply with these rules and regulations.
The Show shall be organized and produced by an authorized broadcasting network or production company (“Organizer”).
The Organizer reserves the right to amend or modify these Terms and Conditions at any time in accordance with applicable laws of Nepal.
2. Definitions
- Applicant
Any individual or legal entity that submits an application to participate in the Show. - Participant
An Applicant who has successfully passed the selection process and is selected to present a business pitch on the Show. - Organizer
The television network, production company, or authorized entity responsible for organizing and broadcasting the Show. - Sharks
A panel of investors, venture capitalists, or business experts evaluating and potentially investing in the Participant’s business. - Pitch
The presentation made by a Participant describing their business idea, product, or service in order to obtain investment.
3. Eligibility Criteria
To participate in Shark Tank Nepal, the Applicant must meet the following conditions:
- The Applicant must be at least 18 years of age at the time of application.
- The Applicant must be a citizen or legal resident of Nepal.
- The business presented must be registered in Nepal and operational for a year.
- The Applicant must have legal rights or ownership of the business idea or product presented.
- The Applicant must not have been convicted of serious criminal offenses.
- Employees, agents, and immediate family members of the Organizer or production team may not participate in the Show.
- Failure to meet the eligibility requirements may result in immediate disqualification.
4. Registration and Application Process
Applicants must complete the official application form through the Show’s designated platform such as:
- Official website
- Mobile application
- Authorized registration portals
- All information provided must be true, accurate, and complete.
- Providing false or misleading information may result in disqualification at any stage of the Show.
The application must include: - Personal details of the Applicant
- Business description
- Financial information
- Market analysis
- Ownership structure
5. Selection Process
The selection process may consist of multiple stages, including but not limited to:
Phase 1 – Application Screening
All applications will be reviewed by the Organizer or appointed evaluation panel.
Phase 2 – Audition Round
Shortlisted Applicants may be invited to present their business concept through an online or in-person audition.
Phase 3 – Executive Pitch Round
Selected Applicants will present their pitch before a panel of business experts or the production team.
Phase 4 – Final Selection
Participants selected in the final stage will be invited to present their pitch in the recorded episode of the Show.
The decision of the Organizer and evaluation panel shall be final and binding.
6. Participation and Responsibilities
Participants agree to:
- Attend all scheduled auditions and filming sessions.
- Provide necessary documents supporting their business and identity.
- Follow all production and safety instructions provided by the Organizer.
- Maintain professional conduct throughout the Show.
- Failure to comply may result in disqualification.
7. Intellectual Property Rights
Participants acknowledge and agree that:
- The details of their business idea, product, or service may be publicly disclosed during the broadcast of the Show.
- Such disclosure may affect the ability to secure intellectual property protection such as patents or trademarks.
- Participants are solely responsible for protecting their intellectual property rights.
The Organizer shall have the right to:
- Record, reproduce, broadcast, and distribute all footage related to the Show.
- Use the Participant’s name, image, voice, and likeness for promotional purposes worldwide.
- Participants waive any claim for compensation related to such use except where required by law.
8. Investment Agreements
Any investment agreement made during or after the Show is strictly between:
- The Participant, and
- The Shark(s).
The Organizer is not a party to any investment deal and shall not be liable for:
- Failure of investment agreements
- Business disputes
- Financial losses
9. Confidentiality
Participants agree not to disclose:
- Details of the audition process
- Confidential production information
- Behind-the-scenes content
- Participants may not give media interviews or publish related content without prior written approval from the Organizer.
10. Personal Data Protection
Personal information collected from Applicants and Participants shall be processed in compliance with:
- Privacy Act of Nepal
- Electronic Transactions Act 2008 (2063)
- Applicable data protection laws
Personal data may be used for:
- Selection and evaluation
- Communication
- Production and promotion of the Show
11. Liability and Disclaimer
The Organizer shall not be responsible for:
- Financial losses incurred by Participants
- Failure of business investments
- Travel disruptions
- Personal injury occurring during participation
- Participation in the Show is entirely voluntary.
12. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by the laws of Nepal.
Any disputes arising from participation in the Show shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Kathmandu, Nepal.
13. Acceptance
By submitting an application, the Applicant confirms that they have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms and Conditions.
