Hem Raj Dhakal

As the Chairman of Agni Group, he transformed a small IT company started in 1990 into a multi-sector business powerhouse that now operates across 65 locations in Nepal. Saurabh Jyoti

At the helm of one of Nepal’s most diversified business groups, Saurabh Jyoti brings his extensive expertise in manufacturing, trading, and investments to Shark Tank Nepal. As the Director of Jyoti Group of Companies, he oversees an enterprise that employs over 3,000 people across Nepal. Ritu Singh Vaidya

A former beauty queen turned business magnate, Ritu Singh Vaidya brings her diverse experience and sharp business acumen to Shark Tank Nepal. As the Managing Director of United Traders Syndicate (UTS), the authorized Toyota dealer in Nepal, and a key leader in the Vaidya’s Organization of Industries and Trading House (VOITH), she oversees a vast business empire spanning automobiles, heavy machinery, finance, and agriculture. Anand Bagaria

A visionary entrepreneur and pioneer in Nepal’s agribusiness sector, Ananda Bagaria brings his extensive expertise in agricultural innovation and business scaling to Shark Tank Nepal. As the founder of NIMBUS, a Rs. 13 billion enterprise established in 2000, Bagaria has transformed Nepal’s agricultural landscape through revolutionary initiatives in feed production, food processing, and FMCG distribution. His engineering background combined with sharp business acumen has enabled him to build a company that now connects with over 35,000 farmers across 70 districts of Nepal, employing more than 500 professionals including veterinarians, engineers, and agricultural experts.

Who is it for?

Shark tank is for businesses that are already generating revenue and seeking investment to scale up their business.

What are the requirements to participate?

  1. The business has to be registered
  2. Founders need to be Nepali citizens and
  3. The business should have at least 1 operational year completed.

How does it work?

The applications are open for now. Please follow the link HERE. Once you apply, you will be contacted for further screening upon selection.

Initial screening will be based on the application and reports submitted. The selected businesses will be called for the first round of interviews.

The business that will be featured on the show will be shortlisted and the business owners are required to pitch the idea before the investors. The businesses need to offer stakes of their companies against the investment they are seeking.

The sharks can make counter offers and the negotiation can go on until the deal gets cracked. The business owners should be well aware that not all business idea gets the deal. If they could not get the sharks convinced, they will have to return empty-handed.

The sharks, however, can offer to help and support any particular business with or without making an investment.

How much investment can you expect?

The investment decisions will be made based on the following parameters.

  1. Valuation of the business made by the founders.
  2. The volume of revenue being generated in recent months.
  3. The target market of the business.

The journey of the businesses that get funded

During the pitch, as informed earlier, there could be multiple offers and counteroffers between the sharks and the entrepreneurs.

Once they agree on a deal, they will have meetings on or off-camera regarding the degree of involvement of the sharks in the business. The involvement will be completely be based on the agreement between the two parties. The show has nothing to do with how the sharks will be involved once the show is over.

The entrepreneurs, if want mentorship and guidance besides the investment from the sharks can make such offers and agree to move forward. That is again subject to the availability and willingness of the sharks.
