Ananda Bagaria
Shark Ananda Bagaria is a self-made entrepreneur who has played a pivotal role in revolutionizing Nepal’s agribusiness sector. In 2000, he founded Nimbus, a company that has since grown into a 13-billion-rupee enterprise, employing over 500 professionals and working with more than 35,000 farmers across 70 districts of Nepal.
An industrial and production engineer by training, Bagaria gained valuable experience through research and hands-on work before launching his entrepreneurial journey. His far-sighted vision helped him identify agri-processing as a transformative force for Nepal’s economy, long before the sector gained national attention.
Under his leadership, Nimbus has emerged as a leader in feed milling, agri-processing, and FMCG distribution. The company was the first in Nepal to establish a pellet feed mill and earn ISO 9001:2008 certification. Its flagship product, Shakti Pellet Feed, became the only feed brand in Nepal to receive NS certification. He also introduced Himalayan Happy Pet, the first domestically produced dog food in Nepal, and launched FMCG brands Byanjan and Sunaulo to serve the Nepali consumer market.
Nimbus operates nine depots and three warehouses in strategic locations like Kathmandu, Parsa, Sunsari, and Kohalpur, with a nationwide distribution network of over 250 dealers and 500 sub-dealers. The team includes veterinarians, chartered accountants, engineers, MBAs, and agricultural experts—reflecting Bagaria’s commitment to professionalism and innovation.
Beyond agribusiness, Bagaria has diversified his ventures. He is an investor in Tootle, Nepal’s first ride-sharing app, and is actively building an e-commerce platform to transform the conventional FMCG distribution model. His industrial footprint also includes packaging fabrics, cement bags, paint resins, and chemicals.
Equally committed to social impact, Bagaria co-founded the Himalayan Climate Initiative (HCI) in 2011, a non-profit focused on building climate resilience in Nepal’s economy and society. He has also launched initiatives like the Bird Flu Insurance Scheme to support Nepal’s poultry sector.
