Born in Lalitpur in 1965, Shark Cabinet Shrestha completed his early education in Darjeeling, India. A firm believer in personal growth and self-improvement, he has consistently sought to evolve—both as an individual and as a business leader. His philosophy is rooted in the belief that a leader’s continuous development has a ripple effect on the progress of an entire organization.

Shrestha began his entrepreneurial journey in 1990 with the launch of Himalayan Business System, an IT company. However, a pivotal moment in his career came when Mahindra Motors was searching for a distributor in Nepal. While involved in software trading at the time, Shrestha met Alan Durant, then President of Mahindra. With a long-standing passion for automobiles, he embraced the opportunity to enter the auto industry. This marked the foundation of what would become Agni Group.

Starting with a small office in Kathmandu, he steadily expanded operations across the country, setting up branches in key cities such as Birgunj, Chitwan, and Bhairahawa. Today, under his visionary leadership, Agni Group boasts eight companies under its umbrella and operates in over 65 locations nationwide.

His entrepreneurial contributions extend beyond economic development. Shrestha was among the first to introduce electric vehicles to Nepal, a bold move aimed at promoting sustainability and diversifying Agni Group’s portfolio. His business interests have since expanded into education, hospitality, beverages, automotive services, and even digital ventures such as FYMO, a food delivery app.

As Chairman of Agni Group, he remains deeply involved in daily operations and decision-making. His commitment to adaptability, innovation, and discipline forms the cornerstone of his success. He emphasizes the importance of evolving with time and is unafraid to take calculated risks in unexplored sectors.

Beyond business, Shrestha enjoys social engagements and cherishes time with his family. A frequent traveler, he finds inspiration in exploring both domestic and international destinations. For him, success lies in a careful balance of hard work, passion, and consistent dedication—a mantra he lives and leads by.
